There are no squad sessions (except adult squad) this Saturday as the Glenbrook Swimming carnival is on.
Mountain Swim Swimming Camp
This summer a swimming camp is planned in January at Katoomba. The camp will include guest coaches, specialists in areas such as cross training, nutrition or sports psychology. Swimming sessions, land training, goal setting and other activities will also be included. This year accommodation will also be included in Katoomba. Following the success of the previous camp we ran a few years ago I am sure this camp will be another success. The planned date is January: Monday 7th - Wednesday 9th. More details will be provided over the coming weeks.
Wagga Wagga Trip
This January the country regional swim meet is being held in Wagga Wagga on the Australia day long weekend. This carnival is an excellent entry level meet and a great meet for higher level swimmers to build up confidence going into Country Championships. I am planning on booking a bus and group accommodation for our squad swimmers and parents. The trip would be:
Leaving on Friday 25th from the Mountains with a stop half way.
Accommodation (apartment style) within walking distance of the pool and town centre.
Returning on Monday 28th with a stop half way.
The cost for the accommodation would be approx $190 for the 3 nights. I am not yet sure of the bus cost but this would also be added on. At this stage I am seeking expressions of interest for going on this trip. Also looking for interest from people who have already booked accommodation, however might just like to be a part of the bus trip. Also, if anyone has their bus drivers license any would be interested in driving a bus down to Wagga on this weekend could you email me.
Note: If there is a very large amount of interest I may need to cap the numbers at one parent for each family. In this instance it should be possible for additional family members to travel out and perhaps swap around on the return bus trip or something.
Please fill out the expression of interest form here:

State Format
State has now been divided into senior and junior state. There are two junior state carnivals in the summer season and swimmers must choose one to do. Junior swimmers have two options of state carnivals following the rules below:
Note 2: Ultimately it is up to the Swimmer, their Coach and their parent/guardian(s) about which stream is best for them.
- 12 year old female swimmers and 13 year old male swimmers can only compete in one Metropolitan & SNSW State Age Championships per season
- E.g. If a female swimmer is 12yrs old and doesn’t age up till after the Australian Age Championships (turns 13 after 15 April, 2019) then Swimming NSW recommends that they follow the Junior State Stream (as outlined below).
- E.g. If a male swimmer is 13yrs old and doesn’t age up till after the Australian Age Championships (turns 14 after 15 April, 2019) then Swimming NSW recommends that they follow the Junior State Stream (as outlined below).
- E.g. If a swimmer ages up and is eligible to compete at the 2019 Australian Age Championships then Swimming NSW recommends that they follow the Australian Age Stream (as outlined below).
