Cancelled Sessions
Public Holidays
There are no squad sessions on public holidays. Coaches may wish to provide/email a program for swimmers who want to do a session on a public holiday.
Lightning storms
In the event of a storm the session may be cancelled if the lifeguards close the pool due to unsafe conditions.
In the event of a lightning storm swimmers may be asked to exit the pool during a session. If this occurs the coach should assess the possibility and value of getting back in the water after the storm passes. The coach may wish to look at radar images to help them make a decision as to wether the session will be cancelled. The coach should advise the swimmers they will make a decision by a certain time. If the session is cancelled swimmers need to make preparations to be picked up.

Carnivals

Short Notice Emergencies
Occasionally sessions may need to be cancelled with very short notice. problems such as traffic jams, injury or sickness may prevent coaches from making a session. In this event coaches should first try and find a replacement coach. if this is not possible the session may be cancelled. Where possible a makeup session should be scheduled.
