Hawaii Tour 2017
A swimming camp and tour is being looked at for 2017. The location being looked at for this camp is Hawaii. Currently expressions of interest are being sought for this tour. If you are interested please consider the details below and submit the form below.
The format is a new one that is being considered and subject to change if it proves to not be feasible. We are looking at ways to include more family members as well as have a swimming focused camp.
Dates: September/October school holidays 2017
Location: Hawaii (Honolulu or similar)
Duration 8 days total (5 camp/ 3 tour)
Staffing: 3 coaches/ 1 team manager per 5 swimmers (approx 5)
Swimmers: 12-24 swimmers (probably 30 max)
Requirements: This camp would be suitable for Silver and Performance level swimmers. Swimmers would need to show maturity in their training and general positive attitude leading up to the camp.
Cost: Around $4300 (payment would be broken into installment amounts). This cost is approximate, actual cost could be more (or less) depending on flights/accommodation etc. Note that the cost is higher then Japan as flights and general costs are more expensive.
This trip would include a swimming camp that focuses on training and is for swimmers, coaches and managers. The trip would also include a tour that would be open for families to join.
Swimming camp details
The camp is a swimming camp more then a holiday. After the camp there would be a tour which would involve tourist activities.
Length: 4-6 days (probably 5).
Accommodation: We would be looking at one place for accommodation for the duration of the camp. A separate location would be organised for the tour.
Swimming activities: This part of the trip would be focused on training with two or three sessions planned each day. Additionally we would be looking at swimming based presentations. If possible some competition would be added.
Camp activities: In between training the swimmers would have time to use the beach and maybe a few smaller activities. More activities would be aimed at in the tour part of the trip.
Swimming tour
The tour would run after the camp and would be open for any that wished to join for daily activities. The camp team would continue to stay together with families needing to organise their own accommodation. It may be possible to organise accommodation in the same place though this is not certain.
Length: 3-4 days
Accommodation: We would look for one place to stay for accommodation (this may be two places). Swimmers that are doing the camp should remain with the camp accommodation during the tour (though this may include some flexibility).
Activities: A schedule of activities would be organised for the tour.
Booking: Families would be in charge of booking accommodation for themselves and joining camp members for the scheduled activities.
Cost: This would be included in the fee for the swimmers doing the camp. Additional people joining for the tour would be responsible for any costs for themselves.
Extending stays: it may be possible for families to organise an extended stay beyond the dates of the tour for a family holiday.
Team Managers
This tour team managers would have specific roles.
Each team manager would be responsible for one of the following areas:
Accommodation/Meals/Travel/Activities
Some other responsibilities would also be incorporated.
This tour the cost for swimmers would also go towards subsidizing the cost for staff. For each swimmer going, $50 would go to paying some of the cost of team managers and coaches.
