Open Water Swimming and Triathlons

Mountain Swim encourages swimmers to do a number of Ocean Swims, Open Water swims and Triathlons throughout the season. Swimmers should talk to their coach if they are interested in joining one of these events and to see if they would be suitable.

Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim

This is a great level entry ocean swim.
Date: Sunday on the 1st weekend in December.
Location: Bondi
Travel: Park at Bronte and walk the lovely walk (allow 50 minutes) to Bondi or park at Bondi and catch the bus back after your event. Parents may also wish to drop swimmers at Bondi and drive to Bronte.
Ages: 13+
Cost: $50
Bring: Swimmers, goggles, sunscreen, towel, water bottle and drinks, beach wear, picnic lunch
​Teams: Swimmers may also wish to enter a team for a chance at a prize. there is also a fins and wetsuits category for those uncertain about the swim.

If you are walking to Bondi you need to meet the walking group at Bronte life saving club house at 8.30am. This is a great warm-up for swimmers.
There is a bus that will take bags from Bondi to Bronte behind the Bondi club house.
All swimmers need to meet at 9.30am at the main steps in front of the club house leading down to the beach. 
The 1st wave leaves at 10am. Swimmers are send of in waves with the under 16s going after the 1st wave. Most of the younger swimmers will arrive at Bronte about 11.15-11.40am.
After the swim we meet up at Bronte beach in the park area for a picnic lunch. 
The event will conclude at approximately 1.30pm.
